THE MATT PAPIRMEISTER AWARD

Every year, Youth Art For Healing presents the Matt Papirmeister Award to high school seniors. Our award was originally a $2,500 scholarship toward the recipients’ post-secondary education and was increased to $3,000 for each recipient in 2024. In 2026, YAFH will provide three awards – $3,500 for First Place, $3,000 for Second Place, and $2,500 for Third Place.

The award is in memory of Matt, cherished son of YAFH founder Jan Papirmeister and her husband Chuck, and brother of Sara. It is designed not only to commemorate Matt’s kind spirit and zest for life, but also to support student artists who are creating, giving, and doing good in their community.

To learn more, please visit the Matt Papirmeister Award page.

To endow the award, the YAFH Board of Directors matched the first $5,000 in donations for the award. You can donate to the Matt Papirmeister Award and help support talented student artists achieve their goals and dreams.

Please consider giving a tax-deductible gift online, or by sending a check made payable to Youth Art For Healing to the following address:
